Yes, backlinks (links from other websites to yours) are an important aspect of SEO. Search engines consider backlinks as a vote of confidence and authority. High-quality and relevant backlinks can improve your website’s credibility and rankings. However, it’s crucial to focus on acquiring natural and authoritative backlinks, as spammy or low-quality links can harm your SEO efforts.
SERP is an acronym for Search Engine Results Page. Every search query has a unique SERP, depending on the location, history and behavior of the user. A SERP can have extra elements with the intent of delivering information in a more useful way. Think of a SERP showing a map with pizza locations or an answer directly visible on the SERP instead of on the website the answer is found on.
The time it takes to rank on Google varies depending on factors such as competition, website age, content quality, and SEO efforts. Generally, significant improvements in rankings can take several months. However, there is no set timeframe as search engine algorithms are complex and constantly evolving. Consistency, patience, and ongoing optimization efforts are essential for achieving and maintaining good rankings on Google.
Mobile optimization refers to the process of ensuring that your website is fully functional, visually appealing, and user-friendly on mobile devices. With the rise in mobile internet usage, search engines prioritize mobile-friendly websites in their rankings. Mobile optimization includes responsive design, fast page load speed, easy navigation, and optimized content for mobile users.
Link building is the practice of acquiring links from other websites to your own. These links, also known as backlinks, play a crucial role in SEO. They serve as “votes” of confidence and authority from other websites, indicating to search engines that your content is valuable and trustworthy. Link building involves outreach, relationship-building, and content promotion strategies to encourage other websites to link to your site. Quality backlinks from reputable and relevant sources can improve your website’s visibility, organic rankings, and overall online authority.

Google Shopping ads operate on a cost-per-click (CPC) model. This means you are charged when someone clicks on your ad. The cost per click can vary depending on factors such as competition, bid amount, and quality of your product feed and landing page. It’s important to set a competitive bid and monitor your campaign performance to ensure cost-effectiveness and maximize your return on investment (ROI). At Hide and Seek we work with Google Shopping experts, who can help you maximise your results.
Google Shopping ads and text ads differ in their format and appearance. Shopping ads display product images, titles, prices, and store information, while text ads are comprised of text-based headlines, descriptions, and URLs. Shopping ads are more visual and provide a product-focused experience, making them effective for showcasing products. Text ads, on the other hand, rely on persuasive text to drive clicks. Both ad formats have their own strengths and can complement each other in an advertising strategy.
Using Google Shopping ads offers several benefits, including: 1. Increased visibility: Your products are displayed prominently on search engine results pages, increasing their visibility to potential customers. 2. Product showcase: The visual nature of Shopping ads with product images and details helps customers make informed purchasing decisions. 3. Qualified traffic: Shopping ads target users who are actively searching for products, resulting in more qualified traffic and potential conversions. 4. Cost-effective: With the pay-per-click model, you only pay when someone clicks on your ad.
To set up Google Shopping ads, you need to follow these steps: 1. Create a Google Merchant Center account and provide accurate and up-to-date product data through a product feed. 2. Link your Google Merchant Center account to your Google Ads account. 3. Set up a Google Ads campaign and select the Shopping campaign type. 4. Customize your campaign settings, such as budget, location targeting, and bidding strategy. 5. Monitor and optimize your campaign performance regularly to maximize results.
Google Shopping ads are product-based advertisements displayed on Google’s search engine results pages. They showcase product images, titles, prices, and store information, making it easier for users to compare and purchase products directly from the search results. These ads are generated based on product data provided by merchants through a product feed, which contains information such as product attributes, availability, and pricing. Google matches relevant searches with the product feed to display relevant ads to potential customers.

Why would I advertise on Twitter?
Twitter offers opportunities to reach demographics you might struggle to engage with if you limit your social media marketing campaigns to a single platform.
It is particularly suitable for businesses that want to leverage real-time events or trends to promote their products or services, as Twitter is often the go-to platform for breaking news and cultural conversations.
With no minimum spend, it is easy to advertise with a smaller budget.
Audiences tend to be more accepting of constant posting on Twitter than they are on other social media platforms. This gives you the freedom to experiment with different content.
Why would I advertise on Spotify?
Spotify is considered a premium advertising channel and can target an extremely niche audience based on music preferences or behavior on the platform.
This can be specifically interesting when you want to advertise your music as an artist, producer or label or when you want to reach people for your music event, such as a music festival or concert.
Now that Spotify offers more accessible advertising possibilities, it is also interesting as a branding channel for a wide variety of companies or brands, as 75% of Spotify members discover new brands through advertising on the platform and 42% of users are actually more likely to buy a product when advertised on Spotify. It is a great channel to reach an extremely engaged audience.
Why would I advertise on LinkedIn?
When your goal is B2B marketing or to reach very specific professionals, LinkedIn Ads are great to boost your B2B marketing performances. On Linkedin, quality reigns over quantity. While you may see bigger numbers on other platforms, LinkedIn provides a higher quality B2B audience, due to its professional nature and many highly specific professional targeting options.
With Linkedin being the world’s largest professional network, Linkedin Ads should be an essential part of your marketing strategy, especially if you want to grow your business professionally.
Why would I advertise on Snapchat?
Snapchat offers a number of unique ad formats with which you can make your brand stand out, such as filters and lenses. One of the great advantages of this is that the shareability is big. For instance, if you buy a filter for a festival terrain and it’s used by 40 people who each have a reach of 100 people, your total reach could be 4000. This way you also reach your actual audience’s network for free.
By far the biggest advantage of Snapchat is that along with TikTok it’s the platform par excellence for reaching teenagers and young adults up to 24 years old. Not only do they use Snapchat for sending photos and videos, but also as a messaging app, leading to high daily use.
Why would I advertise on Pinterest?
What makes Pinterest a unique platform is that the users are mainly focused on themselves. People come to the platform to gather inspiration for themselves, not necessarily to socialise. The goal is not merely to be entertained, but rather to turn their findings into action. Whether it’s cooking a recipe or redesigning the bedroom: a project starts on Pinterest.
Trending topics vary from home decor and gardening to beauty and workout schedules. As Pinterest is used to explore, 97% of search queries are unbranded. This makes it the perfect platform for advertising: people know what they want, but not yet who they want to buy it from.
Last but not least: content isn’t chronological. Ads will show up everytime someone is looking for something to buy, try or do. To learn more about TikTok advertising, you can request our free whitepaper. Just shoot us an email!

General
it’s improbable for a Google Ads campaign to be successful overnight as this need time for data analysis, tests and optimizations, in order to know what works and what doesn’t.
What is the difference between CPC and CPM?
CPC stands for cost-per-click and CPM stands for cost-per-mille (or cost-per-impression). With CPC pricing, you only pay when someone clicks on your Facebook Ad. With CPM pricing, you pay when Facebook shows your ad 1000 times.
What makes online advertising different from traditional/offline advertising such as outdoor, print, and TV ads?
While traditional advertising channels can still work great as part of a holistic marketing strategy, switching to or at least including online advertising has a few significant advantages: 1. Targeting: Online advertising allows for highly targeted advertising based on user behavior, demographics, interests, and other factors. This allows advertisers to reach the specific audience they want, instead of a broad audience. 2. Cost-effectiveness: Online advertising is generally more cost-effective than traditional offline advertising. This is because online ads can be targeted to specific audiences and the cost per click or impression can be adjusted based on the advertiser’s budget. 3. Measurability: Online advertising allows for detailed tracking and measurement of ad performance. Advertisers can track clicks, impressions, conversions, and other metrics in real time. This allows advertisers to optimize their campaigns for better results. 4. Flexibility: Online advertising allows for more flexibility in terms of ad formats, placements, and timing. Advertisers can choose from a variety of ad formats, including text, display, video, and social media ads. They can also choose where and when their ads are displayed. 5. Global reach: Online advertising allows for global reach, allowing advertisers to target customers in different countries and regions. This can be especially beneficial for businesses with an international customer base.

Hide and Seek
Looking at our team of specialists you could divide our team into three separate teams; a Google Ads team, a Social Ads team, and a Data & Tech team.
Google Ads
The Google Ads team is our biggest team, which is split into two separate teams. The one team is focused on the performance channels: Search, Shopping, and Performance Max. The other team is focused on Display and Video. Our Display-Video team does not only focus on the Google Display Networks but also looks at other Display and Video networks that could be relevant for our clients. Mainly online, but also Display Out of Home.
Social Ads
Within the Social Ads team, we cover the main Social Ads networks, like Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and so on. Meta Ads is still one of the most used channels, but TikTok is picking up. We love to work on any Social channel out there.
Data & Tech
Within the Data & Tech team we cover a variety of tasks. This is where our SEO and CRO specialists are, looking to optimise your website. Tracking specialists make sure we can track your online performance and gather smart data. Dashboards are built by this team, that visualise the performance of the websites and our campaigns. That makes the Data & Tech team the ‘flying goalies’ of Hide and Seek.
Next to these specialist teams we also have people in more Hide and Seek organizational teams, like HR, Office, New Bus, and of course the management team. All working closely together.
What is the mission of Hide and Seek?
The mission of Hide and Seek is to bring positivity through good results and lasting relationships with our customers, partners and employees. We do this by combining the knowledge, personality and experience of our customers, with that of our own. Together we can come up with the most witty strategies, unique to the customers’ characteristics and objectives.
Is Hide and Seek an award-winning agency?
Yes, we are very proud to share that we have won numerous great industry awards. Our team worked very hard and managed to write it all in some great cases that got nominated and even won.
Thus far we have won four European Search Awards; two in 2021 and two in 2023. Plus we won the award for Best Global PPC Agency Small in 2021.
We are usually not so much into bragging, but we sure are happy with these rewarding prices!
What is the focus of Hide and Seek?
The core of what we do at Hide and Seek is online advertising, meaning paid online campaigns. This goes back to the heritage of our founders, who met each other when working at Google.
Hide and Seek started off with a focus on Google Ads, then expanded to many other advertising networks. As a good website (SEO & CRO) and Data & Tech are critical for successful online campaigns, these activities are also a critical part of our core focus.
We are true experts in the online advertising field. It is an ever-evolving world of its own. We know the game. And love to play it, every day!
Can Hide and Seek help me create ad content?
At Hide and Seek we want to be the best at the services we offer. That’s why we specialize in ad buying. Currently we do not specialize in or offer content creation, although through our years of online advertising we have of course picked up a thing or two about what works and what doesn’t and can give feedback on ads where necessary. For certain types of campaigns having a few photos or product images is enough to make ads. Other times, if you want to advertise on YouTube or TikTok for instance, or create a really impactful awareness campaign, you might need some video-editing or graphic design done. If you do not have anyone in-house who knows their way around content creation, we advise you to outsource it to a freelancer or creative agency. For a full overview of our services, check out our services page.
