Parookaville festival 2019

In July 2019, Arnoul, Sabine and Kelly, on behalf of Hide and Seek, traveled to the terrain of Airport Weeze in Germany to visit the event of one of our clients: the music festival Parookaville.

First held in 2015, Parookaville now is Germany’s biggest electronic music festival with over 210,000 visitors from over 40 different countries and 300 performing artists. The festival lasts for 3 days. Parookaville is not just an ordinary festival, but, as the name suggests, it is a city that comes alive once a year and is named after the city’s fictional founder Bill Parooka. The city beholds, just like a real city, a town hall, a post office, a church, a jail, a police station, a daily newspaper and so much more. Having grown significantly over the years and with another sold-out edition in 2019, Parookaville is firmly establishing itself as a contender among the biggest electronic music festivals in Europe.

Artists & stages

The 2019 edition of Parookaville headlined some of the biggest names in electronic dance music such as Steve Aoki, Nervo, Richie Hawtin, Sam Feldt, and Armin van Buuren. The artists play at 10 different stages, all with their own set-up, theme, and vibe. From the enormous zeppelin-shaped mainstage holding the biggest names in EDM to the darker techno of the Cloud Forest stage and ‘Burning Man’-esk psytrance sounds at Desert Valley, lovers of all types of electronic dance music can indulge themselves in the best music and atmosphere at Parookaville.

Besides the larger stages, Parookaville also has some fun, small stages including the Wacky Shack, Casa Bacardi, and the Jägermeister Superkuhlhaus. Even if you party all day and night for 3 days, it’s a challenge to experience all the fun areas of the festival city!

Livestream

Parookaville doesn’t only entertain the ‘citizens’ attending the festival, they also cater to the ones who didn’t manage to get a ticket. Airing online daily with a livestream of 7 hours (!), people all over the world can enjoy the livesets of their favorite artists and join in on the unique Parookaville vibe. We’re proud to mention that the livestream has been viewed by millions of people.

More than music

If you need a break from dancing, there are all sorts of activities to keep you entertained. Charging your battery with some good food for example. Star of the food line-up: PizzAoki, baked and served by master Steve Aoki himself a couple of times during the weekend! But also: a karaoke-bus, funfair rides, a tattoo parlor, a swimming pool, and an enormous Ferris Wheel for amazing views of the entire city of Parookaville. To take the good vibes home Parookaville hosts their own shop, packing some really nice items. Festival merchandise has never looked this cool!

Parookaville accommodation

Both single day- and weekend tickets are available for the festival. For the ‘citizens’ that do not want to miss a minute of the fun, Parookaville has several options for staying the night.

Base Ground is the campsite closest to the festival area and the pre-party. This campsite is for the ones that can’t get enough and want to keep partying around the clock! The Mellow Fields are the right choice if you like it a bit more relaxed. Only 10 minutes walking distance from Base Ground, this is the campsite if you actually want to catch some sleep 😉 Even if you don’t like the hassle of setting up tents, Parookaville has got you covered. You can choose either the Comfort or Deluxe Camp. Relaxing chillout areas, nice facilities and just a little bit more luxury. Camping at a festival doesn’t have to be so rough anymore.

Aftermovie Series

Parookaville is known for its amazing online content, before, during and after the festival. This year they have taken it to a new level with the aftermovie: instead of making a traditional single aftermovie, they are releasing an entire aftermovie series! 11 episodes, each with a different theme, something which has never been done before. The series is about making new friends, getting ready to bungee jump and getting crazy in mosh pits. Amazing footage from every imaginable angle is blended together to make each episode one to remember. With this innovative initiative, festival-goers and fans can keep living the Parookaville dream until October. Let the festival season never end! ?

Parookaville & Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek has been working together with Parookaville since 2017. For this year’s edition, we set up several online campaigns for Parookaville year-round on channels as (a.o.) YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Google Display. Starting with boosting the aftermovie right after the 2018 edition, followed by ticket sales starting October 2018, to livestream campaigns and Snapchat filters during the festival. Year-round we work together with Parookaville to boost the brand. We make sure as many people as possible hear about this amazing festival. Because according to us, this festival is a definite must-visit for all festival lovers and music fans.
